"Vapeurs de Thé sur une Tasse Chinoise" ("Vapours of Tea on a Chinese Cup") is a French association created in 1997 in Paris by a few tea lovers, enchanted by green, white, yellow, Wu Long (Oolong), black (post-fermented) and red teas. Our objective is to help the inquisitive and the interested to improve their knowledge of these teas which are so characteristic of Chinese ingenuity. We meet several times a year to discover and share the pleasure, still rare in France, of tasting the best growths of seasonal harvests, infused in respect of the different methods of preparing tea in China. For example, the Gong Fu Cha (using utensils made of porcelain or terra cotta in the tradition of Yi Xing) for the Wu Long teas of continental China and Taiwan; or the Zhong (a small porcelain cup with a lid) for green, white or yellow teas. These meetings are also the opportunity to travel in the company of specialists and artists, to witness traditional Chinese arts which are linked with tea: porcelain and terra cotta, recipes with tea, Chinese classical music... |
